What brought about my innovation for my dissertation topic

 

Hello professor and class. My topic was originally discovered or created because there were a lot of trojans, and penetration attacks in the beginning where cyber criminals would try to get through a network firewall. It first began with legacy systems like intrusion detection and prevention systems and then matured into manual network scanners that scan for viruses and malware on network devices.  Cyber security started with attacks from college students and people who were obsessed with the internet in the 1970\s. 80’s, and 90’s. Cyber attacks have evolved over the years and the frequency has dramatically increased, which is causing a loss of profits in business and governments. These problems have been a driving force in the creation of an integrated cyber security system with the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to help adapt to changing attack methods used by cyber criminals.

Artificial intelligence has been around for years. People have a fear that this technology is a “black box” or unknown or difficult to understand technology. This brought about the concept of XAI or explainable artificial intelligence. This technology can help create a technological platform that can describe to the user all the actions it is taking to create clarity and trust between the user and the AI integrated cyber security technology. It helps to narrow down the topic. I researched old attacks where thumb drives are brought into a building disguised as an innocent rubber ducky toy with a thumb drive with malicious software inside embedded or concealed in the toy. These attacks can still happen intentionally and unintentionally though company insiders and disgruntled employees who have authorization to enter network accounts and access to the information system.

A driving force is law enforcement to prevent and predict cyber-crime. Another driving force is the financial and banking industry. If people’s money and financial information are better protected it will prevent huge losses and reduce a nation state’s national debt. This type of attack is beneficial to the network professional because it can be used to reduce long work hours, stress, and help educate employees of new evolving threats to their information system that occur daily through network logs and AI’s user behavior and data analysis. I would appreciate it if I got feedback from this post. Your response to what I wrote would help contribute to my learning experience. To add to what I wrote. A lust for technological change can be a driving force because it causes people to want to be to the first to try a new product of invention of their time period or era.

Socio Technical Plan on how AI can be integrated into cyber security solutions to prevent thumb drive cyber attacks

 Hello teacher in class. The social technical plan, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity can be used in all realms of life. Artificial intelligence and the security could be in metropolitan area networks like apartments, they could be in schools, they could be in hospitals, lawyer offices, doctor's offices, etcetera. My plan was to use artificial intelligence and cyber security and scan user behaviors on the network. I also plan on using AI in cyber security to scan thumb drives with vulnerability assessments for viruses, malware, and trojans. The purpose of these scans and behavior analytics is to predict, prevent, and stop cyber-attacks. I mentioned how this technology can be applied to all areas of life. But, in my dissertation I wanted to focus on how it can be applied to government agencies, and private businesses. Explainable artificial intelligence can help network professionals see exactly what decisions technology is making, creating a sense of trust, transparency, and understanding of what is going on in the system when the innovation is working by itself. It is important to remember that this technology can be applied to our personal lives as well as safeguarding memories with digital photographs of our loved ones or by protecting our own personal financial information. I was going to practice implementing a qualitative study by the Delphi technique and by paying attention to through observation sessions on the opinionated and emotional response of each user’s interaction with artificial intelligence in the study.

People have a lust for technology and that can be a contributing force to AI in cyber security’s success. Some people want to be the first to use a historic technological innovation. It is also a driving force for law enforcement. Through a sociotechnical perspective law enforcement can benefit from AI behavior analysis tool to anticipate a cybercrime and turn in or report a suspicious user to management or the authorities. This technology can also be applied to hospitals which can be a type of government agency like the veteran hospital. Patient records get exposed or destroyed in cyber-attacks and AI integrated in cyber security can analyze the data from previous security incidents to prevent and learn about the constantly evolving threat to the information system. Machine learning algorithms will be researched on how they can help a AI integrated cyber security system evolve through error correcting code that can adapt to the changing ways cyber-attacks occur using data analysis.

 Hello professor and class. There are several popular companies that had well throughout strategies but forced unpredictable failures that devastated their trajectory. For example, the camera company Kodak had a robust sales strategy and market dominance. The advent of the digital camera was a disruptive innovation that quickly made Kodak accessories obsolete, leading to a huge decrease in sales and popularity along with financial loss. This company lacked the skills to change the improving technological landscape. This work and company is relevant because it was the lack of forecasting from scenario planning which made it difficult for Kodak to estimate a situation where they would fail. Kodak did not even try fast enough to create a digital camera to keep up with the issues and challenges that other companies with who are more competitors brought to the table. Socio-technically this brand Kodak did not stay up with the changing times so the companies technology was not seen as cool, new or the hot item in pop culture anymore. Technology is a part of a social gathering and people want to have high definition pictures that they can save on their computer which phased out Kodak and it's companies legacy's technological approach on the sales market. Going back to my dissertation innovative idea. It is important to come up with a plan for using a similar technology that performs a task I am looking for and then applying it to a gap in research because there is no information about how artificial intelligence integrated software can be used to make a unique scan of thumb drives to detect viruses, malware, and corrupted files before they are used to attacks and destroy a network.

Two forces that can affect this outcome are local legislation that will appreciate the integrated software's ability to report, detect, and analyze issues in an information system by observing user behavior. This suspicious user behavior can be reported to the authorities in order to prevent, stop, and convict cyber criminals. Another force is financial power. Preventing and stopping cyber attacks can boost an organization's or nation states'wealth allowing them to save money by reducing data breaches and theft of financial data from cyber attacks. Financial issues can cause a company, organization, or government agency to go bankrupt. This is a force that can drive a company, it's employees and stakeholders to come up with a plan to manage security issues to reduce, prevent, and stop financia losses.
